Acacia Gum
What is it:
Acacia gum (gum arabic) is a natural gum sourced from the sap of the Acacia senegal and Acacia seyal trees. It is a complex mixture of polysaccharides and glycoproteins. To produce acacia gum, the sap is collected from the bark of the acacia trees. The sap is then dried and hardened into nodules that are harvested and processed to remove impurities. Acacia gum is widely used in various industries, including food, beverage, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics, as an emulsifier, stabilizer, and thickening agent due to its unique properties and solubility in water.
