What is it:

Beeswax is used in many balms, lotions, and used in some foods and medicines. It is extracted from the honeycomb of honeybees (although synthetic bee waxes are now being created that may contain chemicals and other compounds).

Rating:

Beeswax is naturally occurring and is safe to consume, and may have potential health benefits like lowering cholesterol, treating hemorrhoids and anal fissures, and anti-microbial applications. Some people may exhibit allergic reactions to beeswax and bee products.
