Reishi

What is it:

Reishi, also known as Lingzhi, is a type of mushroom that has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine. Reishi mushrooms can be consumed as a tea, extract, or in capsule form. They are also sometimes used in cooking as a flavorful addition to soups and stews.

Rating:

Although research is still limited, reishi is known for its potential health benefits, including boosting the immune system and reducing inflammation. Reishi mushrooms are rich in antioxidants and beta-glucans, which can help strengthen the body’s immune response and help prevent tumor growth. They also contain triterpenes, which are compounds that may have anti-inflammatory properties. It is important to note that supplements are unregulated in the U.S. and may not contain what they say or may be low in quality.
