What is it:
White wine vinegar is a type of vinegar made from fermented white wine. White wine is made by fermenting crushed grapes, and then fermenting it again with acetic acid bacteria to transform the alcohol into acetic acid. The vinegar is then typically aged for a period to develop its flavor profile. White wine vinegar adds a mild acidity and subtle fruity notes to various culinary applications, such as salad dressings, marinades, and pickling solutions.
