What is it:

Zucchini is a type of summer squash that grows best during the summer. They are native to Mesoamerica and were brought to Europe via the Columbian Exchange.

Rating:

Zucchini is high in soluble fiber and water, which reduces LDL cholesterol and improves the health of the gastrointestinal tract. Studies have also shown that vegetables with a similar nutritional profile to zucchini are associated with increased weight loss.
