Rating: Not Clean
- 2 out of 5
Ingredient Score:
Rated at 2 out of 5 green leaves, the Country Life Vitamins Core Daily-1® for Women Multivitamin falls short of the high standards for clean and healthy food products. This multivitamin is not organic, and it does not exclusively use non-GMO ingredients, which significantly impacts its rating on our scale.
The product contains a Women’s Health Blend, which includes a CranberryPlus Blend, a Fermented Organic Whole Food Blend, and Organic Aloe Vera. It also features a Citrus Bioflavonoid Complex derived from lemon, orange, and grapefruit peels, and an Enzyme and Probiotic Blend that offers digestive enzymes and beneficial bacteria such as Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Bifidobacterium lactis.
However, the presence of certain ingredients undermines the product’s overall quality. The inclusion of “Natural Flavor” and “Flavor” raises questions, as these terms often mask a variety of substances, some of which may not align with the goal of cleaner food options. Glycerin and Corn Starch are also present, which are not ideal in a product striving for the cleanest label. Most notably, Maltodextrin is an additive with a significant negative impact on the product’s score due to its potential health implications and its common derivation from GMO sources.
The product’s formulation shows that there is considerable room for improvement. To enhance its standing, the product would benefit from the elimination of ambiguous and potentially harmful additives, a shift to fully organic ingredients, and a commitment to non-GMO sourcing. These changes would better align the multivitamin with the values of consumers seeking the cleanest and healthiest food products available.
The Country Life Vitamins Core Daily-1® for Women Multivitamin, with its current composition, does not meet the criteria for a top-tier clean food product. It is essential for manufacturers to prioritize the health and well-being of consumers by providing transparent, wholesome, and responsibly sourced ingredients.
